The Big/Little Project connects Portland Public Schools students with mentors, alumni, and each other for college, careers, and everything in between.
I've been really grateful for all the mentors I've had growing up, including my older brother. They didn't just answer specific questions, they helped me think through decisions, take chances I wouldn't have on my own, and figure out what actually mattered to me. That kind of support shaped a lot of who I am.
Not every student has someone like that, and it's getting harder to find that kind of support inside school. Portland Public Schools has cut its budget for four consecutive years, including reductions to counselors and other student support staff. The Big/Little Project exists to help close that gap, one connection at a time.
